Employee Giving Campaign
The Faculty Association helps coordinate the fulltime faculty portion of the Foundation’s employee giving campaign. We know that it feels like we are always being asked to donate, but this campaign is very important for the health of our school. For many years, the MVFA has supported this effort, because it directly benefits our school. Thank you to all of the faculty (and others) who donate.
Turkey Raffle:
Our faculty has found a unique way to make fundraising efforts for the student scholarship fund enjoyable. Every fall semester our faculty, staff and administration have an opportunity to participate in a fun activity known as the “turkey raffle”. This activity involves faculty members across departments selling raffle tickets to all MVCC employees.
The money generated from ticket sales is donated to the student scholarship fund with a very small percentage used to buy gift certificates to a grocery store. At the Raffle about 10 winning tickets are chosen with the winner receiving a gift certificate. This tradition, which has been around for about 20 years, takes place on campus over a spread of Thanksgiving decorations and food generously donated by faculty members. It is a wonderful way for faculty, staff and administration to interact and raise money for the student scholarship fund.
The turkey raffle is always held the Thursday before Thanksgiving break and usually starts at 3pm.
Faculty Parking:
Every fall the MVFA members donate $20 each to the MVFA Student Scholarship Fund. In return, faculty members are given a parking sticker to display.
