In November, vote NO on Constitutional Amendment 49 (CA 49). This amendment is designed to go after retiree pensions, but it is very problematic and unclear.
- CA 49 is ambiguous, confusing, and difficult to understand. It guarantees court battles just to interpret the wording.
- CA 49 is the latest in a series of attacks on public employees and retirees.
- CA 49 would grand unprecedented power to state and local governments to make changes in pension benefits and existing law.
- CA 49 concentrates power in Springfield, but will NOT save tax payers money.
- CA 49 will impact the retention of talented public workers.
