We are heartbroken by the passing of our wonderful colleague, Lynn Peters. Lynn was a Professor of sculpture and ceramics for 25 years and passed on Nov 29, 2022, just short of her retirement date.
As an accomplished artist, educator, author, and swing dancer, Lynn inspired many people. She had a heart of gold and many described her as a positive force that brought joy and energy everywhere she went. She was passionate about her art and her students.
Lynn will always be remembered on our campus by those she left behind but also by future generations who experience her installation art pieces on campus: Port Hope, located in the back of the T building, and Goodyear, located in the back of the Library. Lynn’s statements regarding the meaning of each artwork hangs next to the pieces and also gives insight into who she was. I encourage all to go and read her statements and experience her art.
We join together to send our love and strength to her family and friends.
